ILAMON THANGKHIEW

TEXTILE DESIGNER & MAKER

Ilamon is a London-India based textile designer and maker with a Masters degree from the Royal College of Art. Her practice explores storytelling, heritage and the natural world through woven textiles and surface development. She work's primarily with natural materials such as ramie, cotton, silk, and bamboo and her process is deeply hands on blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary expression. 

Passion for interiors and spaces, she creates bespoke pieces that honour both tradition and innovation through tactility, narrative and artistry for both private and commercial application.

She also work with the artisans and the weaving community of Meghalaya, India to preserve traditional skills.
